What would you like to refresh?

Start with the rooms you want to change. We can define the walls, ceilings, doors, trim and repairs as separate parts of one clear painting plan.

Walls and ceilings

Refresh a bedroom, brighten a living area, or bring connected rooms together. Include ceiling stains, accent walls and visible patches in the conversation so preparation matches the room.

Trim, doors and millwork

Baseboards, door faces and other painted details need their own preparation and finish choices. Decide what stays and what changes, including stained wood you want assessed for painting.

Whole-home and move-in painting

Plan several rooms together, coordinate finishes, and identify flooring or moving dates. A room sequence makes the work easier to understand before a start date is agreed.

Can you paint while we live here?

A room-by-room plan may let you use parts of the home outside the active work area. The right sequence depends on which rooms you need, the work involved, and the selected products’ ventilation and drying instructions.

  • Keep important spaces in the plan. Identify bedrooms, bathrooms, home offices and walkways you need to use.
  • Agree on protection and moving. Confirm who moves large furniture; clear personal belongings and fragile items.
  • Separate work from daily routines. Plan for children, pets, access and ventilation before painting starts.

From the first room list to the final walkthrough

Know what is being painted, how the work fits your home, and how to care for the finish afterward.

Define the project

Share the rooms, surfaces, photos and timing you have in mind. The estimate establishes the included work and identifies repair needs or unresolved details.

Plan, prepare and paint

Confirm colors, sheens, access and responsibilities. Protection, agreed repairs and the specified preparation come before finish coats.

Review and care

Review the completed scope and any remaining items. Keep the product information and guidance for cleaning, contact and everyday use.

Which paint finish fits the room?

Start with eggshell walls, flat ceilings, and satin or semi-gloss trim. Then adjust for lighting, cleaning needs and surface condition. A sheen name alone does not establish a product’s performance.

A practical starting point for finish selection
SurfaceStarting choice and what to consider
Living areas and bedroomsEggshell; compare a washable matte when a lower-reflection appearance matters.
Hallways and busy roomsEggshell or satin, with the named product’s cleaning performance in mind.
CeilingsFlat for a quieter appearance; humid rooms need a suitable coating.
Doors and trimSatin or semi-gloss; higher sheen makes preparation and surface details more visible.
BathroomsA product designed for humidity. Purpose-made matte options exist, so gloss is not automatically required.
Recommendations informed by Benjamin Moore’s finish guide. Final choices depend on the actual product and surface. Compare interior sheens in more detail.

Chad & his crew did a beautiful job repainting our entire downstairs. The bathroom needed a bit more care as did the living room ceiling, and the extra work was handled very efficiently. Id hire him again in a heartbeat for any future painting job that I might have. Thanks for a great job Chad!! Teri Williams

Chad was great and kept us in the loop on the schedule and sent his color advisor, Nancy and she was fantastic in helping us with contrasting walls and color design. The job itself went very smoothly. The three painters that worked at our house were fantastic, neat, polite and did a fantastic job from start to finish.

Chad and his company did an amazing job on our basement, hallway, and deck. They spent three days with us and really made sure to get every inch. They were respectful of our home and the final product was outstanding. Great pricing too! I’ll leave a before and after of our deck.

Very impressed with the job Midwest did for us. It started with Chad helping solve a few issues with walls and recommending a great color choice for our basement, and ended with the amazing work crew being professional, skilled, and all around nice guys. We would definitely call Midwest the next time we need painting!

My experience with Chad, Sergio, and the entire crew was Outstanding! I had the interior of my home painted, and many drywall repairs done, and this experience was above my expectations. I am so please with every aspect of this experience. The quality of the paint job was excellent, I was very impressed with how well the crew covered everything in plastic and covered the hardwood floors in paper. The drywall repairs are amazing. I was also impressed with the crew and how polite and considerate they were. if you need painting and/or drywall repairs, you will be very happy using Chad and his company Midwest Painting Pros.

Been many years since I hired a painter. Recently had our kitchen cabinets painted by a woman, Amanda, who highly recommended Midwest Painting for our walls. Chad, the owner was friendly & great to work with from start to finish. He provided helpful suggestions on colors and painting the ceilings a different color to brighten the rooms. I would never consider hiring anyone else for any future painting projects. He was competitively priced. His painting crew did an exceptional job and very conscientious about their work & cleaning up. They covered & moved all furniture to paint around. Great experience! Welcome to you me as a referral anytime.

I recently had Midwest Painting Pros over to do indoor painting. They did a great job and promptly came back to repair a few small, missed drywall repair. They worked quickly and got things done in one day. Good communication throughout the waiting period from booking the job to getting it done.

Planning Your Interior Project

The proposal should identify the rooms and surfaces, preparation, agreed repairs, finish choices and access requirements. Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets are separate scope decisions. Cabinet painting can be discussed alongside the repaint as a distinct finish project.

Clear small belongings, breakables and wall decorations from the work area. Large furniture may be moved away from walls and protected where space allows, but agree on who handles each item before the start date. Keep essentials accessible outside the work zone.

Paint changes color; it does not flatten uneven patches or repair damaged drywall. Identify holes, cracks and texture differences before painting so repairs are included where agreed. Lower-sheen finishes can reduce the visibility of imperfections, but cannot replace preparation. See which drywall repairs come with a paint job.

No. A sound, clean, previously painted wall may accept the selected finish without a separate full primer coat. Bare repairs, stains and slick finishes need a specific primer or compatible coating decision. Primer does not fix an active leak or level uneven drywall.

The painted surfaces, ceiling height, repairs, color changes and access determine the work. A wall-only refresh differs from an occupied room with ceilings, detailed trim and drywall repairs. A written estimate lets you compare those items rather than relying on floor area or room count alone.

Timing depends on the rooms, preparation, access and coating intervals. Agree on the room sequence and project schedule after the scope is assessed. Painting completion, access to a room, and permission to wash or place items against fresh paint are separate milestones.

Yes, start the estimate conversation with your preferred dates and any holidays, travel or moving plans. Interior work still requires suitable room conditions, ventilation and drying time. Confirm scheduling availability after the scope and household access needs are understood.
